I Can Only Imagine

I can only imagine life in America before Columbus. I have read that there were millions of souls here before mass genocide destroyed the beauty of the culture and stole the life that existed here for thousands of years. I have also read that civilizations here dated back to 20,000 years ago. I can only imagine how our world would be if the truth was taught to children. We should feel shame for what happened and for the fact that it is not recognized.

I can only imagine how life must have been then. To live with a heart connection to our Mother, to see beauty in all and to honor each other with respect. To live with the connection with all living beings, and to have gratitude for everything.

I can only imagine what it must have been like to live life with the cycles of the sun and the moon. To live with a sacred connection to plants and trees and to look to them for healing and health. To live in the beauty way. To welcome every living soul that is born in ceremony wit spirit, and to honor and bless souls back to spirit when the time has come.

I can only imagine the size of the trees which were allowed to grow. To hold reverence for everything. My soul longs for this and my soul mourns this loss. I am holding space today for an existence here on Earth that resonates with what was. I hold space for peace within our hearts and on this Earth.

In honor of Indigenous People’s day and prayers for a peaceful way of life in our future.
