Adaptogens alter immunosuppression in a immune system that has been depleted due to continuous exposure to stress and anxiety.

Ashwagandha, and schisandra are adaptogens that relieve anxiety. They also directly support the nervous system. I use these adaptogens with others in formulas to focus on anxiety and depression. I also combine these with herbs called "nervines" which decrease our reaction to anxiety and halt negative circular pathways in our thoughts.
